You want to know what happens to your data when you use this site. Fair enough. Here it is, without the legal fog: what we collect, why, who we share it with and what you can do about it.

Who are we?

Dutch Powerlifters is a project of Online Marketing Bakery. We are responsible for the processing of your personal data on dutchpowerlifters.nl.

What data do we process and why?

When you fill in a form

Through the contact form you send us your name, email address, a subject and your message. Through the add your gym form you send us the name, town and website of a gym, its facilities, your role (for example owner or member), your email address and a comment.

We only use that data to answer your question or to check the gym and add it to the guide. Your message reaches us as an email and is not stored on the website. We keep the email for as long as needed to deal with your question, and for no more than two years. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in being able to handle questions and submissions, or your consent if you give it on the form.

When you visit the site: analytics

We want to know which pages work well and what could be better. For that we use two services:

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland). Without your consent, Google Analytics sets no cookies and only sends anonymous, cookieless signals (Consent Mode). If you give consent, Google Analytics places cookies (including _ga, for up to 2 years) to count visits and see how you use the site, for example which links you click.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft). Only after your consent. Clarity shows us how visitors scroll and click, with heatmaps and anonymous session recordings. Text you type into fields is masked by default. Clarity uses cookies (including _clck, for up to 1 year, and _clsk, 1 day).

We do not use advertising cookies. Legal basis for the analytics cookies: your consent. We store your choice in your own browser (dp_consent in local storage). You can change it at any time via the Cookies link at the bottom of every page.

Google and Microsoft may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Both participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

When you use the gym finder

  • Near me: your browser first asks permission for your location. We only use that location in your own browser to calculate the distance to gyms. It is not sent to us and not stored.
  • Searching by town or postcode: what you type is sent to the PDOK Locatieserver (run by the Dutch government) to convert it into a place on the map.
  • The map: the map tiles come from OpenStreetMap. Your browser fetches them directly, which means OpenStreetMap sees your IP address.

When you click an affiliate link

Some articles contain links to online shops, such as bol. If you click one of those links, your click goes through that shop’s partner programme. The shop may then place cookies to see that you came via us. The shop’s own privacy policy applies to that. We receive no personal data about you, only a notification that something was bought via us.

Server logs

As with any website, our server keeps technical logs, including your IP address, the time and the page you requested. We only use them to keep the site secure and working. The site runs on servers in the EU.

Who do we share your data with?

We never sell your data. We only share it with the services listed above and with our hosting provider, which runs the site for us. Beyond that, only if the law requires us to.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. You can object to processing, withdraw your consent or have your data transferred. Email us at hello@onlinemarketingbakery.nl. We respond within one month.

Not happy with how we handle your data? Let us know first and we’ll sort it out together. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (the Dutch Data Protection Authority).

Changes

If we start doing something different with your data, we will update this policy. The date of the latest version is always shown at the top.
